Pirate Fest Weekend
Get ready to tangle with pirates during the weekend of July 13-15. There’s something for everyone — a Pirate Encampment with fun and games for the kids, a pub crawl, a 5K race, and the 5th annual Pirate Gala. Let the inner pirate in all of you out to play!
Pirate Pub Crawl & Scavenger Hunt
Friday, July 13
6-10pm
Put on your best pirate garb and tour Main Street Havre de Grace one pub at a time. A treasure map will lead you on a pub crawl and scavenger hunt through five of Havre de Grace’s best restaurants and pubs. Complete the scavenger hunt and enter to win the first-place prize, a $250 gift certificate to Havre de Grace restaurants, or the second-place prize of Pirate Gala tickets ($100 value). Prizes will also be awarded to the best pirate costume!
Registration is $10 per person. You may complete the scavenger hunt either individually or as a team. All proceeds benefit the Lock House Museum. In addition to the scavenger hunt fun, each participant also gets an eye patch and cross bones bandana as well as a chance to win great prizes. For the Pub Crawlers, participating restaurants – MacGregor’s Restaurant, Coakley’s Pub, Laurrapin Grille, Rodger’s House Tavern, and Tidewater Grille — offer unbeatable pirate drink and food specials, including rum punch, pirate beer specials and other pirate concoctions.
Pirate 5K
Saturday, July 14
8am
Come to the Shores of the Susquehanna River in downtown Havre de Grace and run along the Lafayette Trail with waterfront views and historic landmarks. Proceeds benefit The Susquehanna Museum at The Lock House. Pirate fluorescent safety T-shirts and bags will be provided for the first 500 registered. Awards will be given to the overall top three males and females as well as the top three males and females in the following age categories: 11 and under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over. All award-winners will be entered into a drawing to win two tickets to the Pirate Gala on Saturday night, a $100 value. Registration is $20 in advance or $25 walk-up.
Pirate Encampment
Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15
10am-4pm
Come experience a live pirate encampment on the scenic grounds of the Lock House Museum and bring your inner pirate! Activities include live music, children’s costume contests, pirate tales and readings, pirate banter, skirmishes, and battles, and much more! Admission is $3 per person, 12 and under are free.
Pirate Gala
Saturday, July 14
7pm-11pm
You are cordially invited to make merry at the best party of the summer! Held on the scenic grounds of the Lock House Museum, prepare to eat, drink and dance with the pirates and wenches. Highlights of the evening include food provided by Laurrapin Grille, beer by Duclaw’s, and wine from Jim’s Bottleworks. Music is by the Chris Sacks Band, silent and live auctions, and costume contests complete the fun. Tickets are $50 per person.
